Trumps of Doom is the first book in the Merlin series by Roger Zelazny. It continues the Chronicles of Amber with the same family of universe commanding characters.

Merlin, son of Corwin, takes up a narrative that includes annual assassination attempts on his life. He embarks on an adventure that gets more and more complicated as the story evolves.
