Tom of Finland (May 8, 1920 - 1991) was born Touko Laaksonen in Kaarina, Finland. "Tom" sounds more like Touko than any other English name, so he really is Tom of Finland. Stored images of masculine Finnish laborers from an early age and recreated these in his drawings. Known for his physique drawings, he is also famous for the "Kake" series featuring lumberjacks, motorcycle policemen, sailors, businessmen, bikers and leathermen, Tom's favorite subjects.
