Tokay

Tokay has several meanings relating to wine:

• Originally, it was the Anglicized name for the famed wines of Tokaji.
• Later it came to be used to refer to wine produced from Muscadelle. In Australia, a style something like that of Tokaji is called liqueur Tokay.
• Finally, it is the name by which Pinot Gris is known in Alsace. The phrase "Tokay Pinot Gris" is now used to indicate this variety. The idea is eventually to phase out the word "Tokay" altogether.

Tokay is a type of gecko (lizard).
