Sympathy for the Record Industry is an independent record label based in Long Beach, California. The label was very influential in the indie-rock and neo-garage movements of the late 1980s and 1990s and has put out records by the White Stripes, Mudhoney, Billy Childish and others. The label was founded by Long Gone John.
