Somme is a French d?artement, #80 for postal and other administrative purposes, named after the Somme River. Located in the north of France. It is part of the region of France Picardie.

Pr?ecture (capital city): Amiens.

Sous-pr?ectures: Abbeville, Montdidier, P?onne.

The Somme was the site of many great battles of World War I with a number of monuments to soldiers from various countries.
