Novohrad

Novohrad (in German:

Neograd, in Hungarian:
N?r?) is the name of a historic administrative county in southern
Slovakia (and in northern present-day
Hungary) from a time when Slovakia was part of Hungary.
The name stems from the former N?r? (Novohrad) castle in present-day Hungary. Today in Slovakia only an informal designation of the corresponding territory. Situated approximately along the line Polt?, Lučenec, Sz?z?y and V?.
