The MAN (for: Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-N?nberg, Augsburg-Nuremberg Machine Company) company is a German engineering works and truck manufacturer. Rudolf Diesel got a prototype for the compression ignition engine functional in early 1897 while working at a MAN plant at Augsburg, Germany.
