Lugia (Rugia in Japanese) is the silver bird Pok?on that lives on the Whirl islands. It is first introduced in Pok?on Gold and Silver, and appears also in Pok?on Crystal. This Pok?on represents the Silver version of the game. When the tower in Ecruteak City it roosted on burnt in a fire, this Pok?on flew off and never returned. It features in Pok?on 2000(Revelation Lugia/ The_power_of_One). It is both Flying and Psychic type and it learns good moves like Aeroblast, Hydro Pump and Recover.

In the movie Lugia comes from the sea when the three Legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres are roused by a bird Pok?on trainer who tries to catch the trio. Lugia then battles the raging Birds and with the help of Ash and Team Rocket, manages to calm them and restore peace to nature.
