Kl?e (
German cuisine) are dumplings made from mashed potatoes (then called
Kartoffelkn?el) or dried bread with milk and egg yolks and cooked like
pasta (called
Semmelkn?el). Served instead of potatoes. In
Bavaria and
Austria they are called
Kn?el.
