Kangasala

Kangasala is a small town in Finland, next to Tampere. It was founded in 1865 and has about 22,300 inhabitants (2001).

It is famous for its natural beauty, as depicted by Sakari Topelius in his poem Kes??v?Kangasalla (made into a song by Gabriel Lins?). It is also known for its mansions, such as Liuksiala where Swedish queen Karin M?sdotter lived, and W?ksy.

Finnish author Jalmari Finne was born and lived in Kangasala.
