January Uprising

The
January Uprising broke out in
Poland,
Lithuania, and
Belorussia on
January 22nd 1863. The aim of the national movement was to liberate the lands of the former
Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from
Russia's occupation. It was pacified in
1864.
