Han Yu

From Wacklepedia - The Free Encyclopedia

Han Yu (韓愈) (768 - 824), was a founder of Neo-Confucianism as well as a poet.

He launched the movement for the language (古文運動). His goal was not to imitate ancient style, but to get rid of this flowerish style with heavy constraints of parallel sentences that prevailed from Han to Tang dynasties.
