Elendil

From Wacklepedia - The Free Encyclopedia

In Middle-earth, the fantasy universe of J. R. R. Tolkien, Elendil is the father of Isildur and An?ion and the founder and first king of Arnor and Gondor. Elendil was the son of Amandil, last Lord of N?enor, the leader of the Faithful who maintained the old ways against the encroachments of Ar-Pharaz? and Sauron. Elendil and his sons fled to Middle-earth at the Downfall of N?enor, founding new realms in Middle-earth. In the Last Alliance (of Elves and Men) when Sauron came to battle himself, he fought with Elendil and the Elvish High King Gil-galad, who were both killed, but good came out of Elendil's death, for his sword, Narsil, broke under his weight when he fell, and Isildur used the hilt shard and cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand.
