Defensive back

Defensive back is a position played in American football where a player will attempt to prevent the offense from advancing their position beyond the immidiate line of scrimmage. There are several types of defensive back positions, however their ultimate goal is always the same: Prevent the football from passing the line of scrimmage. Typically, some defensive backs will pursue the Quarterback or carrier while others attempt to prevent the offense from pursuing the first set.
