Chernivtsi

Chernivitsi (Romanian:
Cernăuţi; Polish:
Czerniowce, German:
Czernowitz) is a city in Northern
Bukovina,
Ukraine. It was part of the
Austrian province of
Ruthenia, until
1918, then
Romania until
1940, when it was occupied by the
USSR and since the
1991 it is part of
Ukraine.
