Captain Rapp
From Wacklepedia - The Free Encyclopedia
Captain Rapp is one of the pioneers of
West Coast hip hop, debuting in
1981 (see
1981 in music) with "Gigolo Rapp" (with Disco Daddy). The song was a minor hit in Rapp's native
Los Angeles. After separating from Disco Daddy, Rapp released a socio-politically aware single, "Bad Times (I Can't Stand It)", another local hit and cult favorite. He did little recording for the rest of the 80s, though he returned with a sequel to "Bad Times" in
1992 (see
1992 in music), "Bad Times, Part 2: The Continuance".
