Blagoevgrad region of
Bulgaria contains the cities of
Blagoevgrad, Sandanski and Melnik. It lies on the Strouma river, which is the natural link between
Greece and
Bulgaria. Blagoevgrad, Sandanski and Melnik are west of the Strouma.
