Athens Wireless Metropolitan Network is a non-profit organization, based in Athens, Greece. AWMN has develop a city-wide wireless network, which at the moment has 206 active nodes, using 802.11b wireless technology.
Its aims include:
- The development and use of community wireless network throughout Athens.
- The development of wireless technology.
- Educating on the use of wireless networks.
- Making the public aware of wireless networks and their use.
This is a
metropolitan area network.
